I smell a big fat mclawsuit:The racist attack at McDonalds

The racist attack at McDonalds
How shall I begin? Well, there's no such thing as "reverse racism" (how I hate that dreadful expression!). Just plain racism. Blacks beating on a white using deadly force, no matter what the circumstance that would be a hate crime if the colors were reversed.

Quite frankly, there's no such thing as "hate crime" (how I hate that dreadful expression!), and it is quite likely unconstitutional (i.e, U.S. unconstitutional). A crime is a crime; and adding the phony tag "hate crime" in order to get a more serious conviction is unconstitutional. Sooner or later some wise lawyer will get the "hate crime" designation brought before the Supreme Court and it will be struck from the books.
BTW, it looks like the two perpetrating women already hit the victim scale jackpot:
Equality Maryland said the victim is a transgender woman and called on state Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler to step in and investigate the case as a hate crime. Police and prosecutors said they did not know whether the victim is a transgender woman.

Here's the smoking gun:

In the meanwhile, why won't Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson (and their not-so-merry crews) come out and condemn these brutality? Again, if this were two whites on a black, it would lead to protests (even riots). It would be really nice if these so called leaders (sometimes they look more like hatemongers) show some consistency, for once.
McDonald's employees' attitude was even more despicable. They did absolutely nothing to stop this carnage. One more thing: it seems the whole thing started because the two women found the transgendered woman in the bathroom. They took on her. She did absolutely nothing to defend herself.

I smell a big fat mcsupreme court historic ruling, too.

Web 2.0: Build empires by betraying your partners

A laureate movie can take "artistic" licenses from the truth, but it can be real hard to hide it when billions of dollars are at stake. Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss (and Divya Narendra) reached already a juicy $ 170 million out-of-court settlement with Mark Zuckenberg, but they decided that they deserved even more and went to court again... and lost. But it was worth trying!

Like a drug racket turned into a semi-legitimate megacorporation, Facebook's origins are mystified because the truth is not so sanitized as Zuckerberg wanted to be. Yes, there was enough betrayal, even for Paul Ceglia, who claims 50% of the company. Yes, Facebook is a big piñata, waiting to be beating in the courtyard. The case of Ceglia is not to be dismissed so easily as Slate wants it to be. There are hints at disturbing and revealing evidence of Ceglia's claims, after all.
That other Web 2.0 media darling, Twitter, has its own peccadilloes, too. Noah Glass have a thing or two to say about the not-so-heroic early days of the 140-character empire.
These people should learn from the old-school tech tycoons: Steve Jobs, and - believe it or not - Bill Gates.

Bob Dylan: It's better to die a hero than to live long enough to be the villain

After a long life of enjoying accolades from sycophantic slaves, after being heralded as the Voice of the Sixties and Patron Saint of the Baby Boomers, Bob Zimmerman a.k.a. Bob Dylan sells out for good. On April 6th, Dylan performed in Beijing, but with a carefully selected song set, looking very carefully not to offend the Culture Minister, the Chinese Government... in fact, it seems he didn't want to speak truth to power.

But if you go carrying the picture of Chairman Mao, you ain't gonna make it with anyone anyhow... for the counter-culture hero this is frankly embarrassing. Maybe the factual powers of the United States of the Sixties weren't as scary, intimidating or bloody as the Chinese appear right now. Why did Dylan have to go to China to give a concert of his wonderful music and turn his back on his public by hypocritically appeasing the authorities?
We're in it only for the money, that might be the answer. Again: picture yourself Mr. Dylan performing for Nixon at the White House and singing something racist á la Stephen Foster. Bob Dylan lost all moral ground for any kind of criticism he is going to have to withold anyway about his native country. Is he a coward? Did he only took the money and run? Both? Somewhere, John Lennon must be sardonically smiling.

Ah! BTW Bob, how does it feel...?
