Portugal: HUGE reductions in drug abuse with a decriminalisation system

This is great news! And very bad ones for those that still fantasize with Rambo-type measures to crush the "drug problem" forever. For those who pointed Holland as the undesired, unintended result for total liberalisation, there's now a real life example of how handling drug abusers as a health problem works better than criminalising them: Portugal.

A 50% reduction in hardcore users in 20 years is a major accomplishment. Much much better than the so-called "War on drugs" results. We should definitively take a look and implement this strategy, even if we have to retrain the whole DEA from enforcers to social workers.
